Oct 31, 2016

Boca Raton, Fla. (October 31, 2016) – West Boca Medical Center receives an “A” Hospital Safety Score from The Leapfrog Group, a non-profit organization that provides patient safety information to consumers and consultation services for network inclusion to insurers and self-insured employers.

“This is a significant milestone for West Boca Medical Center,” said Mitch Feldman, hospital CEO. “We are the only hospital in Palm Beach County to maintain a superior score 10 times in a row, since the inception of the award in 2012. We remain dedicated to patient safety, and the continued acknowledgement from The Leapfrog Group speaks to our commitment to this goal.”

Developed under the guidance of an expert panel, the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade uses 30 measures of publicly available hospital safety data to assign “A,” “B,” “C,” “D” and “F” letter grades to more than 2,600 U.S. hospitals twice per year. The ratings are calculated by top patient safety experts and are fully transparent and free to the public.

“Protecting patients from harm is the most important charge for any hospital,” said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “We recognize and appreciate “A” hospitals’ vigilance and continued dedication to keeping their patients safe.”
