Sleep Disorders & Conditions

Sleeping issues can appear in many different ways. Some of them are very well known, such as chronic insomnia and difficulty falling and/or staying asleep. But there are some disorders that are lesser known – for example, restless legs syndrome - yet treatment is available for them. Look below to see a few of the common disorders, and don’t hesitate to make an appointment if you struggle with any of them.

  • Difficulty falling and/or staying asleep
  • Snoring
  • Muscle twitching
  • Restless legs syndrome
  • Sleep apnea
  • Chronic insomnia
  • Narcolepsy
  • Behavioral insomnia of childhood
  • Circadian rhythm disorders
  • Obesity-related sleep breathing disorder
  • Enuresis (bed-wetting) and pediatric obstructive sleep apnea

If you decide to make an appointment with the Sleep Diagnostic Center, then you are on the path to accomplishing something you never thought possible—getting a good night’s sleep! Many of our patients will need to participate in an overnight sleep study, or polysomnogram, which helps specialists properly diagnosis the disorder. The sleep study is neither painful nor dangerous.

During the procedure, sleep specialists will monitor you, noting key parameters throughout the sleep - EEG (brain waves), ECG (heart rate), EMG (muscle activity) - and blood oxygen saturation levels. To make you more comfortable, we provide hotel-like rooms. Parents are also able to stay with children who are being tested.
