Aug 4, 2015

Boca Raton, Fla. (August 4, 2015) – Patients will now experience a spa-like atmosphere and an enhanced birthing experience at West Boca Medical Center. The hospital’s newly renovated Birth Care Pavilion consists of a Labor and Delivery Unit, Post-Partum Unit, Newborn Nursery and a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

“As one of the leading obstetric and maternity hospitals in the area, we are excited to complete the recent refurbishing of our Birth Care Pavilion,” said Mitch Feldman, CEO of West Boca Medical Center. “Our birthing suites offer the same award-winning care as before, but now in a more private and comfortable atmosphere to help improve the overall labor and delivery experience.”

The 33 patient rooms offer a soothing and luxurious ambience and are furnished with upscale vanities, wardrobes, window coverings and furniture, including a recliner, a sleep bench for overnight visitors, guest seating and a bedside cabinet. All bathrooms have been updated with modern flooring and shower tile.

The labor and delivery rooms have new baby warmers and bassinettes. Selected rooms offer accommodations that include workspace for dads, sleeping quarters and a wireless Internet connection. Family and friends can easily stay updated throughout the labor and delivery process. Renovations also include the conversion of some of the post-partum rooms into private rooms.

“The birthing experience is a special time for parents, and we want them to feel like they’re in a safe, family-centered environment,” said Marianne Sevcik, director of maternity services at West Boca Medical Center.

West Boca Medical Center is known for its 5-star maternity care. The hospital recently earned the Healthgrades 2015 Obstetrics and Gynecology Excellence Award™ and the Healthgrades 2015 Labor and Delivery Excellence Award™ for its commitment to providing excellent care for women during childbirth and during and after gynecologic procedures. They have also been a recipient of the Healthgrades Maternity Care Excellence Award for nine years in a row.

In addition to the upscale suites, moms can take advantage of the hospital’s maternity education classes to help them through the maternity process and beyond. West Boca offers a series of classes where pediatricians and nurses discuss topics like baby wellness, delivery, breastfeeding and more.
