West Boca Medical Center Brings High Level Emergency Care to North Broward County

Jul 23, 2015

Boca Raton, Fla. (July 23, 2015) – The future of emergency care has arrived in North Broward County with the recent opening of the area’s first Satellite Emergency Center, just south of the Sawgrass Expressway overpass on State Road 7. Residents of Coconut Creek and surrounding communities now have a fast, comfortable and convenient place to go for their emergency care needs – 24/7, 365 days a year.

The new Emergency Center is an extension of West Boca Medical Center’s Emergency Department, offering the same first-rate care in an easy-access location for individuals and families residing in Coconut Creek, Coral Springs, Parkland, Margate and Deerfield Beach.

“As the area’s new community health resource, our board certified emergency medicine physicians and registered nurses are here for you and your family’s emergency care needs,” said Mitch Feldman, chief executive officer. “We will continue to work closely with Emergency Medical Services to redefine healthcare delivery in North Broward County.”

Designed to offer minimal wait times, the center is fully equipped and staffed to treat emergent conditions, such as lacerations, orthopedic and sports injuries, dehydration, abdominal pain, respiratory problems, head injuries, strokes and heart attacks. Patients will have access to more than 200 specialty physicians on West Boca’s medical staff.

"I am excited to be part of a team that is bringing emergency care to Coconut Creek and surrounding communities,” said Jeffrey Ingeman, MD, medical director of the new Emergency Center. “Our staff consists of experienced ER physicians and nurses capable of handling any condition, from a minor injury to a critical illness.”

The 20,000-square-foot center houses 11 treatment rooms in addition to the following ancillary capabilities:

  • Adult and acute walk-in pediatric care
  • Advanced imaging services including a low-dose 64-slice CT scanner, ultrasound and X-ray units
  • Ambulance Access
  • Clinical Laboratory Services
