What Are They Going Through?

Everyone reacts differently to illness or injury, and those reactions aren’t always easy to understand.

There are a few ways you can get a better idea of what your loved one is going through — and how to help them during this difficult time:

Listen.

Don’t try to force your loved one to talk, but do let them know that you’ll be there to listen if they need you.

Learn.

Find out more about your loved one’s condition or procedure, and feel free to talk to your medical team if you’re still confused.

Be there.

No matter how small your contribution, being consistently supportive can make a big difference.
